Tad DuPriest was born in Ashland, Virginia on May 9th, 1973. The son of Barclay and Rob DuPriest, Tad also has an older brother, Rand (Letter from Rand, Tad’s brother). Tad was a graduate of St. Christopher’s School and completed his freshman year at Randolph-Macon College. On July 20th, 1992, Tad tragically lost his life in a car accident while volunteering to drive eight children from a Putt-Putt outing. Miraculously, the children walked away from the accident.
The Tad DuPriest Foundation was inspired by Bentley Keso, a good friend of Tad’s. She wanted to give back to the community in Tad’s name and enlisted the help of Rand, Tad’s brother, as well as a group of close friends from St. Catherine’s, St. Christopher’s, and Randolph-Macon.
Once the Tad DuPriest Foundation was clearly defined, the Foundation realized that they needed to identify a non-profit/charity to support and so began the Tad DuPriest’s Foundation relationship with ASK, the Association for the Support for Children with Cancer. ASK has a clear mission to provide social, emotional, financial, and spiritual support for children with cancer and their families.

Tad was an exceptional athlete, excelling in football, basketball, golf and baseball. In the summer of his eighth grade year, he started working at St. Christopher’s Summer Experience for young children. He worked there until his accident in the summer of 1992. His love of sports and working with children were the inspiration for the first fundraising event for ASK . We hope that you will support us in celebrating the life of Tad DuPriest for a very worthy cause.
